In today’s world, we all can use a little compassion and understanding. Everyone experiences the world differently and understanding your unique characteristics and circumstances can be key to leading a healthy lifestyle. As our world is ever-changing, client-centered approaches include keeping in touch with the most current research in the field. Overall, acknowledging each person as an individual provides you with the support you need to promote your health, healing, and best self.
I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals who have been in various walks of life. While obtaining my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Alverno College, I began working with children with autism spectrum disorder and their families to produce the most effective learning environment for the child and support the family in finding ways they can best function. I have worked with adolescents struggling with anxiety and depression within a private practice as well. While earning my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology and later, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, I transitioned to working with adults with serious mental illness. I also have experience conducting psychological testing for diagnostic, treatment, and legal purposes.
At KKJ, I am available to conduct evaluations for individuals involved in the legal system. I aim to provide a report that, not only encompasses the issue areas, but enlightens how individuals are impacted by their current situation. My goals for an evaluation are to clearly depict areas that are affecting an individual and identify the best way to move forward for those involved.
I am also available for co-parenting services for families who are struggling to find common ground regarding your child’s care. For parents who are not together, co-parenting can be challenging and create additional conflict within the family. Sessions will support families in maintaining relationships that will allow a positive environment for your child’s growth. Learning to communicate with purpose will promote effective ways to engage with your children, and your co-parenting partner, so the family can function effectively as a whole.
